What does a more inclusive Virginia look like?

Perhaps it is middle and high school students who lead programs to reduce bullying and harassment.  Or teachers who reduce the academic achievement gap through more inclusive curriculum and classroom management practices. It could be business leaders who implement policies and practices that consider the perspectives of their diverse colleagues and customers. And community stakeholders who strategize about how to use 2010 census data to address critical disparities along lines of race and class.

In the last year, the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities has made a difference in all of these areas… and more!

Over the last twelve months, this organization has conducted over 140 workshops, directly training 7,500 people to build more inclusion within their spheres of influence. These figures mark a 300% increase over the last six years! And, through action plans and follow-up activities, the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities is reaching hundreds of thousands of people all across the Commonwealth.
